The line you want to edit looks like this, (all you have to do is add the word shift in between the ctrl+c and the ctrl+v on both of those lines, so your end result would be ctrl+shift+c and ctrl+shift+v as shown in the image below. You need to make this change so that you can use ctrl+v for vim block commands.

This will open an Ubuntu Linux tab.Įdit the settings file in Windows Terminal which is accessed via the V dropdown button.

Launch your Windows Terminal! At the top of the window, click the V dropdown button and select Ubuntu. We observed there was no ubuntu until AFTER restarting the Windows Terminal completely. Notice that some of the GUIDs will change and you will need to restart the terminal completely in order to get the new entries auto-loaded into the config. Proceed with the next steps, ONLY if you already have Windows Terminal installed. Take the time to get your terminal working well for you. One of the main reasons to run a local copy of Linux is to replace putty and other tools with a real Linux terminal.
